The California Proposition 65 control list does not establish limits for substances itself. Instead, the control limits for harmful substances in products refer to federal courts and various lawsuits or agreements in the United States. These documents may include limit requirements and testing methods for certain substances in certain types of products. The high-risk substances involved in previous cases include lead, cadmium, ortho benzene, bisphenol A, and other substances.
In 2021, the California Hazardous Substances List 65 was updated twice, and the 8 new substances added last year will undoubtedly become a focus for law enforcement.
