Low-Altitude Aircraft Thermal Management Testing

Low-Altitude Aircraft Thermal Management Testing
Details:
Low-altitude aircraft battery and power supply testing can be mainly divided into electrical performance testing, safety performance testing, and environmental reliability testing.
Electrical performance testing verifies the normal charge/discharge performance, capacity, and energy properties of aircraft batteries under various application conditions, including high temperature, low temperature, humid heat, and high-rate discharge.
Safety performance testing verifies the battery's safety performance under abnormal mechanical or electrical stresses encountered during application, such as drops, vibrations, impacts, collisions, short circuits, and overcharging/over-discharging. Environmental reliability testing verifies the battery's resistance to environmental stresses such as high and low temperatures, humidity, IP protection rating, gas corrosion, salt spray corrosion, and chemical corrosion, and verifies the reliability of the battery device's structure and materials.

Service Background

Low-altitude aircraft such as eVTOL electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft and drones, due to their aviation application scenarios and the high-efficiency heat dissipation requirements of batteries and motors, also require thermal management systems to accurately regulate the operating environment temperature of batteries/motors. During flight modes such as takeoff and landing, eVTOLs need to provide high power output from the battery for a short period of time, placing extremely high demands on thermal management in various application modes. Furthermore, the aircraft needs to maintain battery operation within its suitable temperature range under various high-temperature or low-temperature application scenarios, requiring the thermal management system to provide corresponding temperature control strategies. Effective performance verification of the thermal management system's thermal management performance, environmental reliability, and control management system is achieved through heat exchange performance testing, high and low temperature cooling and heating performance testing, and environmental reliability testing.
